Wrist electronic sphygmomanometers measure the pressure in the radial artery, which is also considered end-of-pipe blood pressure, and therefore the results are also less accurate than those of arm sphygmomanometers. Since wrist type electronic blood pressure monitors are easy to use and can be measured at any time, they are thus more suitable for office workers, frequent travelers or patients who initially need to be measured many times a day.
Arm sphygmomanometers mainly measure the pressure in the brachial artery of the upper extremity and also measure the heart rate, which is more accurate than wrist and finger clip sphygmomanometers.
